"In youth we learn; in age we understand."
Marie Ebner-Eschenbach
When I was in college in the USA I had a fantastic advisor from the Athletics Department, Dr. D.R. Butler. He was one of those special people who really understand youth and have always the answers they are looking for.
D.R. was a person who will always have a special place in my heart: it was my freshman year in college and I needed to make a speech in front of an audience to get credit for my COMM100 class. You need to consider that I just arrived to the USA, my English wasn’t that great and his idea of my first speech was to do it in front of the Rotary Club of Northern Virginia. He took me there and I did my speech. Everything went well and I will always remember that morning, and car ride in 2001, not because of the presentation but because of a phrase he said to me while talking about love life: “you will find your place in the world when you will fall in love.”
About 15 years after that car ride, I chose my place in the world to be that in which I fell in love.
Thank you D.R. For the great advise.
